I am blessed to be born in India with an endless taste for
food. Except for non-vegetarian food I have tasted wide variety of food
preparations which includes the styles of South India like Udupi, Mysore, Mandya,
North Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and some of North Indian,
few of Chinese and Italian too.. I used to have a great appetite 8 to 10 years
back. With age it has diminished a bit, but still I appreciate and enjoy wide
variety of preparations in smaller quantities.
I keep trying these
styles of cooking on my husband. He is a very good critic when it comes to
taste and I always tell my in-laws that if their son gives me a certificate, I
don’t need from anyone!! Believe me it is not at all easy to get appreciation
from my husband, he gets into minute details of taste and gives his judgement.
It is making me a better cook day by day. I enjoy a lot, cooking wide variety
of dishes for him because he enjoys eating good tasty food.
Because of my interest in fitness, I have added a lot of health into most of my recipes. I always try to cook tasty food which is good for health as well. I make dishes based on “Whole Food” concept, except for oil, salt and few refined items which are eaten only for taste. Also I use organic unpolished items like Brown Rice, Rajmudi Rice, Hand pound rice, Whole Wheat, Millets, Brown Sugar, Black Jaggery, Sea Salt, Cold Pressed Oil, Dal etc., in all my recipes. We eat 2 to 3 meals a day and one snack. I ensure to add Fruits, Raw Vegetables, Cooked vegetables and Dry Fruits and Nuts everyday in our meal. In the morning we eat fruits and salad, rice only once a day mostly in the afternoon, evening usually chapathi, paratha, dosa, upma, rotti , poha etc., with some raw or cooked vegetable raita or salad. I keep making vegetable and fruit juices to drink first thing in the morning. I keep learning and trying new recipes keeping the health concept in mind.

There may be few blessed ones who can eat only for health!
However, there is a large section of people who want both health and taste in
their food and my recipes may be useful for them. I am planning to bring some
authentic, healthy and tasty recipes for you all very soon... 😊
